Roxana Barba is a choreographer and performer whose practice incorporates interdisciplinary uses of dance, film and video. Roxana pursued undergraduate visual arts studies at Pontificia Universidad Católica in her native Perú prior to receiving her B.F.A in Dance from New World School of the Arts (Miami, Florida). Upon relocating to Miami from Mexico City, where she performed with choreographers Marcela Aguilar and Alicia Sanchez, she worked with dance makers Letty Bassart and Jenni Larsson, and began an ongoing collaboration with filmmaker Claudio Marcotulli. Roxana’s work has been presented by La Quiñonera (Mexico City), Miami Light Project, FETA’s Ars Feminae Miamiae and Performance Art Miami Festival. HERON, her first dance film will be screening at Women’s Dance Conference (New York) and ScreenDance Miami
