For the closing of IMMATERIAL, Roxana Barba, in collaboration with dancers Lize-Lotte Pitlo, Britney Tokumoto and sound designer Andrew McLees presented a performance that was as much a meditation on materiality as it is an exploration of form and sound.

Using concrete blocks, flashlights and live-collected sounds to build a moving, sonic landscape, CONSTRUCTS (work-in-progress) plays with ideas of construction, both physical and metaphorical. Each accumulating gesture and sound is an exploration of the tangible and the ephemeral, harnessing the effects of live sound and improvised performance to capture and play with the perception of the audience.
